About
Colours
The first
Colours of Byron was presented on Sunday 4th of
May 2008 with Gayle Cue, one of the founders of Bay FM Community Radio, as our first guest. Since then, we
have interviewed well over 150 colourful locals - people whose ideas, designs and passions make this such an
exciting and, well, colourful place to live. The colourful threads, we say, who make up the tapestry of our
community.
We play an eclectic mix of music on Sunday mornings, from Beethoven to the
very latest local and international songs. There's always at least one Bob Dylan as well. From 9am (sometimes
earlier) we interview a local about living in the area, moving here (if that's what he or she did) and - whatever
else comes up in conversation. Each guest brings favourite music and we talk about that as well. Famous, not famous
or infamous, as long as you're a local, you're welcome on Colours for a fireside chat.
Over the years we have interviewed musicians, artists, writers, healers,
mystics, organisers, politicians and even Bay FM presenters! We even have bands playing live in the studio. The
breadth of talent in this region is constantly surprising, and each voice is one more thread in our colourful
tapestry.
